Stopped here many times for gelato as it was in the piazza just outside our AirBnB. Excellent quality and service. Sometimes a long line for it, but that really just speaks to the quality.

Best Gelato in Florence, hands down. Super friendly environment in a very cute and convenient area. The pear gelato is incredible. It brought my girlfriend to tears- and that isn't a joke. We went back for seconds every time. But one time, we walked 30 minutes to get there and it was closed despite Apple Maps saying it was open. So we booked the late train just to come back the next morning, because my girlfriend was itching for more pear gelato. We arrive at the establishment at opening after another 30 minute walk. NO PEAR GELATO Please bring back the Pear. The people need it. We may no longer be in Florence, but the next generation of pear gelato eaters is among us. They yearn for the pear. It is forever in our hearts, as is Gelateria Della Passera

We were walking around Firenze after having lunch just exploring and taking in the sights when I came to the realization I had not consumed any gelato yet that day. It just so happened that we were close to Gelateria della Passera and after a quick Yelp search I saw that this was one of the more notable gelaterias in the city. That's all you needed to say to me, and on that note I quickly went inside to check it out. Like other gelaterias I visited, the interior of della Passera isn't large - it's a simple setup with the coolers on the back wall as soon as you enter. What's noteworthy about della Passera is that the gelato is not on display, but rather in bins covered by lids. I've heard that this maintains the freshness of the gelato but I can see how opinions differ on this subject. Anyway, I usually get cups but was in the mood for a cone so I went with a small ricotta with fig. I enjoyed the gelato - it was smooth with good flavor. The ricotta gave it a fresh taste and the candied fig really elevated it. Service was good, I was taken care of promptly and could tell they take a lot pride in their shop. Overall this is a solid option for gelato in Firenze - I wouldn't be against returning here next time I'm in the city.

The gelato here was absolutely delicious and very well priced. We tried the vanilla, lemon, strawberries & ricotta, and vanilla, lemon, strawberry, ricotta, strawberry ricotta, hazelnut, and raspberry flavors and all were delicious! The staff was so friendly, we went 3 times on our 5 night stay.

Was a little busy but well worth the wait. Authentic gelato in the tin cans as you know the other spots are more tourist sites with open gelato containers filled with preservatives. Here it was fresh and the chocolate and hazelnut combo was the best.

Pretty awesome gelato in Florence, decently priced too. We got the cup with two scoops - amazing at €3.50 each. Lots of flavours to choose from, friendly and prompt service, what more could you ask for! FYI there are some benches opposite the shop for you to have the gelato at.

A short queue in the calm firenze alleys south of the Arno lead to the unique flavors of this gelateria. I tried the melon, the grapefruit, the yogurt, the dark berry, all of them were unique and the taste of the fruit shone through. It felt like they had extracted grapefruit juice in the back and churned it just a few hours ago. I had to try the dark chocolate given the success with the others, and it was just as dark, rich and chocolatey as I had hoped. The scoops were small, but also cheap, all the more reason to try multiple flavors.

The BEST fruit flavors we had in Italy. Came twice and prob going again. The mandarin tastes just like a clementine tangerine and so does the pink grapefruit. The peach flavor was mild but natural. Will be back to try blueberry and the other fruit flavors. The hand drawn signs are lovely.

One word! AHMAZING!!!! Easy to miss place as it tucked away in a small space. This place is incredible. The flavors are like nothing here. I usually get chocolate flavors but this is the first time I tried other flavors. I got the lavender and mulberry. Oh my gosh! They were incredible! Also tried the melon and banana. Absolutely delicious. Wish we had found this place sooner.

The best gelato I've ever had. I was in Florence for 3 days and in Rome for 3 days. I had a gelato from a different place every day. Gelateria Della Passera is the best one by far. Lots of GREEN FLAGS for this store. First off, it is located in an alley - away from foot traffic and yet still manages to attract a line. Secondly, the gelato are not on display; they are under metal lids. This is a great sign because it means the gelato does not have extra preservatives and needs the lid to be temperature preserved. I know I will be thinking about this gelato for a long time and it will be at the top of my list if I'm ever back in Florence
